What are the benefits of eating raw foods?

What makes Wholly Noggin a good brain food?

Many of the ingredients in Wholly Noggin bars are considered as the top brain foods. Medical research reveals that depending on genetics, lifestyle, and experiences, a deficiency in Omega-3 or an excess of other fats can lead to brain disorders. Walnuts, flaxseeds and chai seeds are rich sources of Omega-3s while fruits such as blueberries, cranberries, and other berries are rich in antioxidants needed to prevent oxidative stress (precursor to many neurological diseases), inflammation, and enhance blood brain connections.

Almonds and walnuts are both good sources of the powerful antioxidant vitamin E, which kills free radicals that can damage brain cells and cause disease. Chia and flax seeds are also brain superfoods because, like almonds, they’re such good sources of magnesium—a nutrient that may help improve memory and protect against age-related memory loss, according to a study in the journal Neuron. Researchers suspect that magnesium enhances the brain’s plasticity—its ability to change and grow with experience—and increases the number of brain synapses that can be activated.

A study in the journal Alzheimer’s and Dementia found that people who supplemented their diets with DHA had the learning and memory skills of someone up to three years younger. To make DHA, your body needs alpha-linolenic acid [ALA], which is found in flax, hemp, chia, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, and leafy greens.

The lack of ‘disguised sugars’ (such as agave syrups, honey, etc.) is also very beneficial for the brain as excess sugar levels leads to blood sugar abnormalities, increased risk of obesity, neurological conditions, and even forms of depression. Excessive sugar also promotes brain fog, sluggish thinking and generally being unfocused.

The dark chocolate ingredients within the Wholly Noggin bars are also brain-friendly antioxidants and decrease inflammation.
